Dr Biswajit and Bharati Adhikari Fellowship will be launched from January 2022 with the sincere desire of Dr Biswajit and his wife, Bharati Adhikari.
Dr Biswajit Roy grew up in the Thakurgaon district. He completed MBBS from Dinajpur Government Medical College Hospital. Since medical graduation, he has been engaged in the medical profession for a long time and has served the country’s people. Then he migrated to Australia. He has been working in the medical profession in Australia for a long time. He is currently working as a General Practitioner in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Thakurgaon is a neglected town and district in North Bengal. Many people in this district are still behind in receiving opportunities financially and educationally compared to other country districts in Bangladesh. There are still many deserving students who cannot complete their education due to financial reasons. Those who will work for the country in the future, who will serve as good citizens of the society but are unable to continue their education due to economic reasons, will be given this Fellowship through a selection of applications from all the deserving, poor children. The Fellowship Committee will take the final decision. The Fellowship Committee will be nominated by Padma Library and the Fellowship providers. Fellowships will be awarded to two students each year.
Firstly, the students nominated for the Fellowship will be paid BDT 3000 per month for one year. The Fellowship Committee may consider the students’ academic performance for the next Fellowship year and nominate them further.
